Shweta has been a champion of children’s Right to Play for over two decades and has been working towards mainstreaming play-based learning in India. A creative facilitator, Shweta is an engineer by education. She is a Harvard Business School — Strategic Nonprofit Management — India programme alumna and an Ashoka fellow. She believes that play is a powerful catalyst for transforming childhood to adulthood trajectories for underprivileged children. Under her visionary leadership, The Opentree Foundation’s (TOF) flagship project, Toybank, has been addressing the developmental needs of over 1,50,000 at-risk children through its Life Skills Play Programme. These scalable, impactful programmes have been recognised by global platforms like HundrED and Global Giving. Through the years, Shweta has been working towards mainstreaming play and play-based learning in India, and will not stop till the Right to Play becomes a reality in India and well within our lifetime.
